HIMEKAMI "PROFILE"


Name of "HIMEKAMI" was taken from a mountain HIMEKAMI which Located in Tohoku, Japan, and has a beautiful pyramid shaped.

*Tohoku = North area of Japanese mainland.There are Aomori, Akita, Iwate, Miyagi, Yamagata and Fukushima Prefecture.

1980 The first founder of "HIMEKAMI", Yoshiaki Hoshi, made his debut in a song of "Oku No Hosomichi".

*Oku No Hoshomichi = This is written by Bashou Matsuo in Edo period.

*He wrote the most important work of a book of travels in Japan, and which is one of the most famous in his works.

2004 The first founder, Yoshiaki Hoshi, died suddenly. After Yoshiaki Hoshi, Yoshiki Hoshi succeeded to the name of "HIMEKAMI" and the will of Yoshiaki.

2008 HIMEKAMI released 23rd Album "Ama Hitakami No Kuni".




HIMEKAMI "PROFILE" / 2nd generation YOSHIKI HOSHI


1978 Born in Takizawa, Iwate, Japan between his father Yoshiaki and mother Etsuko Hoshi.

*Takizawa, Iwate = snowing village in Tohoku

1986 He attended a dedication performance at a garden of temple "Moutsuuji" in Hiraizumi as a performer.

*Hiraizumi = Located in Tohoku, Japan. Hiraizumi has many historically famous places like "Konjiki dou" and "Jyoudo garden", and will be a world Heritage registration in 2011.

1994 He participated in a song "Tosa No Haru" which is in the 14th Album of HIMEKAMI "Tsugaru".

1998 He participated in songs "Nanten No Unabara" and "Kiribasu No Tenshi" which are in the 18th Album "Jyoumon Kairyu".

Winning a Japan Record Grand Prix / Prize for Planning

After, he has composed, arranged, recorded, produced concerts and performed.

2004 Sudden death of the first founder, Yoshiaki Hoshi, he has succeeded to the name of "HIMEKAMI" and become 2nd generation.

He produced Japan tour in 2004.

2008 HIMEKAMI released 23rd Album "Ama Hitakami No Kuni".

This album is his 1st album after he succeeded.

Now, he is taking an active part in music business. He composed theme music for TV, arranged orchestra, chorus, composed and produced songs for singers.

HIMEKAMI "PROFILE" / 1nd generation YOSHIAKI HOSHI (1946/3/16~2004/10/1)


1946 Born in Wakayanagi Town (Kurihara city), Miyagi, Japan

*Wakayanagi Town = Agricultural area in Tohoku

1971 Winning a Victor electronic organ Contest

He composed music influenced from traditional Japanese entertainments, race entertainments, traditional songs, folkways and a heart of people in Michinoku.

*Michinoku = Tohoku area in Japan

1980 He made his debut in a song of "Oku No Hosomichi".

He organized a group "himekami senseishon".

1984 He changed the name form "himekami senseishon" to "HIMEKAMI" and became a solo unit.

1998 Winning a Japan Record Grand Prix / Prize for Planning in 18th Album "Jyoumon Kairyu".

2004 Winning a Japan Record Grand Prix / Prize for Special Distinguished Service in 22th Album "Kaze No Densetsu".

He released 22 Albums ( more than 200 songs ) in his life. He always composed with a soul of Hokujinreika.

*Hokujinreika = a coinage by Yoshiaki Hoshi

Hokujinreika is a Japan~Tohoku edition of Negro Spiritual

Because of Tohoku area was made an invasion by others historically, they had a thought and expression of soul, spiritual and requiem.
